The training centre was founded in 1972. Its founder is Lithuanian Labour Market Training Authority under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour.

Klaipeda Labour Market Training Centre is the main training centre in the region that concentrates on adult training.

The activities of the centre are:

• improvement of the qualifications
• re-training
